The main objective for this strategy analysis report is to look at the
social network Twitter which can be simply defined as ‘Information
central’. Twitter is the one of numerous information websites that
provides topics that include gossip, daily jokes from other twit
members and also business information.

Profile

The creation of Twitter did not come in to concept until 2006 but the
thought and development has been in consideration for 10 years by Jack
Dorsey and two other developers.

Since the creation in 2006 to present Twitter is can be considered one
of the major social networking sites that allows famous and local
celebrates to get a little closer to their fans with daily updates on activities, concert
information and sometimes if you’re lucky celebrates might start brawls amongst
each other for the publicity.

Competitive Landscape

Looking over the history and creation of Twitter, Dorsey’s didn’t have
a specific group of people he wanted to catch their attention but he wanted the
appearance of Twitter to be different from other social networking
websites like Facebook and MySpace. For instance, other social
networking sites have almost the same format and page layout, while
Twitter uses specific things like “my.Stat.us” as the status placement
and also you can apply different backgrounds with any Twitter
account.

Twitter’s Business strategy

There are numerous ways in which Twitter is expanding its wings
globally. Twitter is becoming a social networking that can be accessed
at anytime and anywhere as long as there is a form of connection to
the internet. They also have extended their reach to affecting the
ecosystem in a positive way.

There are applications developed for smart phones that can be downloaded so that
Twitter can be accessed at anytime.

Twitter captures the attention of businesses
and companies.

Implications of Gen Y

The affects that Twitter has on the Gen Y is going to be very big as
the years add on. The huge fanatic trends that grasp a lot of people with of these
other social networking websites will also happen to Twitter but we
have to give it time.
